Feature debut by writer-director Ique Langa, produced by Sousa Domingos and Khalid Shamis, co-produced with Tuba Films. Shot in black and white over nine years with a non-professional cast in Manjacaze, southern Mozambique.

A kind-hearted pastor struggling with his faith seeks help in obscure powers, and it all goes well until it doesn't.

Mozambique's first independent feature presented at Final Cut in Venice, winner of the colour-grading award there in 2024 and of the Doha Film Institute post-production award. World premiere in the Tiger Competition, IFFR Rotterdam 2026, followed by MoMA in New York, Marrakech and Curitiba. Worldwide sales by Luminalia.

Chapa 100

Associate Producer

The second feature by Ique Langa, currently in development. Two aging street vendors in Maputo fall in love late in life and dream of building a family and a small business together. Leaving the bank one morning, he is struck by a chapa 100 minibus. His spirit merges with the machine and wanders the city in search of his beloved, while she fights to pay for the funeral.

Winner of the top development prize, worth €30,000, at the Atlas Workshops of the Marrakech International Film Festival 2025. Development is also supported by a grant from CULTIV'ARTE, the cultural and creative industries programme of Expertise France in Mozambique.

The early work. Short fiction made in Maputo, honoured with an honorary award at Kugoma, Mozambique's longest-running short film forum, and with Moderno taking 3rd place at the Centro Cultural Moçambique-Alemanha (CCMA) in 2019.

A Voz de um Pincel

Producer

Short fiction directed by Douglas Condzo. Armando, a shy and gifted twenty-year-old from the Hulene neighbourhood of Maputo, lives with his mother beside a scrapyard and holds on to his one passion, painting.
